Artist statement
Your body contains more bacterial cells than cells that belong to you.
300 million "you" cells die every minute.
Being alive is a miracle against phenomenal odds.
I want people to smile when they look at my paintings, I want them to remember what a blessing it is to exist.

Bio
Sharon Baillie lives and works on the west coast of Scotland. Sharon has a PhD in chemistry and has always appreciated the ability to admire both science and art. She worked for many years painting fantasy miniatures for Alternative Armies but now dedicates her creative self to painting penguins (amongst other things) because, as she says, "there just isn't enough penguin art in the world".
